El gobierno de México, a través de la Secretaría de Salud, ha puesto a disposición de la ciudadanía una aplicación que sirve para contactar al 911, registrar perfiles de usuarios y sus síntomas y autodiagnosticar Covid-19MX.
De acuerdo con Ricardo Cortés, Director General de Promoción de la Salud de la Secretaría de Salud (SSA), la aplicación fue diseñada en colaboración con el Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (Conacyt) y pretende servir como un medio para registrar información entre autoridades de salud y la ciudadanía, además de orientar si el usuario está en un mayor riesgo y los dirigirá al servicio del 911 para acceder a los servicios de emergencia.

De entrada, la app Covid-19MX cuestiona al usuario si sospecha si él mismo o un conocido está infectado con el Covid-19. Si la respuesta es afirmativa se envía a un cuestionario sobre sintomatología y un formulario que tiene como fin identificar si se encuentra en un grupo de riesgo.
La aplicación también cuenta con una lista de centros de atención, una sección de preguntas frecuentes (sobre uso de cubrebocas, formas de contagio o enfermedad en las mascotas), medidas de prevención y comunicados oficiales.
El Director General de Promoción de la Salud informó que las autoridades estarán recibiendo y monitorizando los comentarios sobre el funcionamiento de la app con el fin de mejorar en el menor tiempo posible su desempeño.
